What I Want by Melissa Brown Levine is an excellent book. First of all, I loved the cover. The picture on the cover was perfect.
Let me tell you about the story. The Duff sisters are well-bred, drop dead beautiful, and are complete opposites of each other. Naomi is a successful business woman with dreams of building an empire. Doria is a widow and single mother whose only ambition is getting her next drink. Xavier Brinson, who is handsome and wealthy, enters the sisters’ lives and soon creates conflicts between them. Their once close relationship begins to change because of him.
This book was refreshing with lots of twists and turns. I like when I don’t expect to see something coming in a book and it catches me off guard. The characters were very well written. In the male character you will find a sensitive and naïve side; however, the sisters are strong. It was a shame to know that a once close bond between sisters can fall apart because of a man. This is the kind of thing that can happen in real life, and watching it unfold will capture your attention. The author’s writing will make you feel like you’re right there, watching everything take place.
I would highly recommend this novel. It would make a great book club discussion. I can see myself reading other novels by this author.

Laurel Cremant is an opinionated author and reader of romance with a wicked sense of humor. RNIC was smart (or crazy) to bring her on as a blogger. In 2016 she took over the management of this site and relishes her new title of “Overlord of Awesome”
