This was such an interesting and quirky story. There were many different people (well, if you can count the Devil and minions, grandmother coming back to life, the fae and others), but not so huge a number that you needed a cheat sheet to keep track. I enjoyed seeing life from such an interesting point of view (not everyone is just normal, if anyone is normal at all).
Angel and Jacque are characters that play off of one another so well. Just when I would get tired of Angel’s whining, she would do something to change my mind. Jacque was hysterical, sexy and very funny. The secondary characters will be fascinating to read about in a future book.
To keep a book light and fun to read, yet keep the attention of the reader, is a hard job for an author. I think Vivi Dumas has captured a story that is likeable and worthy of a “I’m going to sit-down, drink coffee and dive headfirst into a world that has other worlds in it”. I can truly say I enjoyed this.
This was my first time reading anything from Vivi Dumas, and she did not disappoint. I will have to see what else I can find from her and make sure they become part of my TBR pile, as well as my very-soon-to-be-already-read and “dog-eared” pile.
