Please welcome Sam Cheever to the site! She’s here on a virtual book tour to promote The Biggest Poser, and she’s giving away a $10 Amazon or B&N gift card. First, let’s learn a little more about Sam.
Tell us about yourself.
I live in a cabin in the woods in beautiful Southern Indiana. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Professional and Technical Writing. I worked as a writer/editor for Corporate America for 15 years and finally quit my job 18 months ago so I could write full time. I have 2 grown daughters, 1 husband, and 13 dogs. I also have a Friesian horse named Bouke, who lives with my daughter on her hobby farm. When I have free time, which isn’t often, I like to go to the movies with my girls, read, or spend time with my dogs. My husband and I don’t travel, we love our little spot in the woods too much to leave, but we like to go out to dinner and work around the house. We bought the cabin last summer and have been busily updating it and making it our own.
What are your favorite types of movies to watch?
I love romantic comedies and suspense/thrillers.
Which TV show(s) can you absolutely not miss every week?
I absolutely adore The Walking Dead and wouldn’t miss it for the world. I actually buy the season on Amazon so I can watch the episodes when I have time. The other show I don’t like to miss is Revolution. I guess I’m an end of the world kind of gal. LOL
Finish this sentence: You gotta love a man who…
…can laugh at himself.
I think a man who likes to laugh is sexy! Humor is an extremely important element of a healthy, happy life. People who don’t know how to laugh, particularly at themselves, are miserable and lonely because nobody wants to be around them.
What would be the title of the movie about your life?
The Storm Cometh
I have a lot of bad luck. **Twirls fat, fake mustache and talks like Groucho Marks** If it weren’t for bad luck I’d have no luck at all! But no worries, adversity builds character and I’m a HELL of a character. LOL
Do you write full-time or part-time?
Sing Halleluia! I’m writing full time these days. I dumped the day job about 18 months ago so I could dedicate all my time to torturing my characters. I know that sounds harsh but trust me, they deserve it. **Nods head for emphasis**
Did you always want to be a writer? If not, what else did you want to do?
Always. I used to drive everyone batty with angst-ridden teen drama and drivel. Now I drive everybody bonkers with trauma-ridden adult drama and drivel. The good news is I’m evolving. I…think.
Why should readers consider buying your books?
Because I know where they live? Seriously, I do. Nah, just kidding. I’m always honored (and a bit surprised) when readers decide to give my books a shot. There are billions of other authors out there and trillions of books. Just the fact that they found my stuff floating around in all that ether is amazing. If they actually buy one and start reading it, I consider it a near miracle. But I’d like to think they won’t be disappointed. Most of my victims…erm…readers have enjoyed my stories. And those other trolls…well… LOL
Is there such a thing as too much sex in a romance novel? Explain.
YES!!! Sorry for yelling but this is kind of a hot issue for me. The difference between romance and erotica needs to be clarified. I’ve got no problem with pure erotica books. I’ve written some and I know for a fact that lots of readers care only for the sex scenes in a book. But there are just as many readers (and a lot of authors like me) who want the books they read to actually contain a story. So, yeah, in a traditional romance, too much emphasis on sex can ruin the story. In pure erotica I doubt you can have too much sex. And everybody needs to recognize the difference because it isn’t fair to judge a traditional romance by the same criteria with which you would rate an erotica, and vice versa.
What was the nicest comment or most interesting question you’ve received from a reader?
I write a romantic suspense series based on a family of 8 sexy alpha brothers. My Honeybun books have been very popular and garnered a lot of reviewer interest. One review in particular really made my day and still continues to put a smile on my face when I think of it. The reviewer said this: “Sam Cheever plots suspense with the best authors around.” Wow, considering the incredible talent in the suspense fiction arena, I take that as a high compliment. Here’s the snippet and link to the full review:
The Romance Studio gave A Honeybun and Coffee 5 Hearts! “This is one of those stories that makes Sam Cheever a constant favorite. She plots a suspense with the best authors around. Then adds her own unique brand of humor and romance throughout to make the stories even more fun to read.”

What can readers expect from you next?
I have a very full writing plan for 2014 and beyond. I’m currently working on Book 7 of my Honeybun Heat series. Honeybun on the Run will be available in the June/July timeframe this year. I’m also working on Book 2 of the m/m paranormal City of Lights series I write as Declan Sands. Next on the plan is completion of a couple of Young Adult books I write under s.i. decker. And beyond that is the next installment in my popular Honeybun Fever series. I also need to write the next book in my Declan Sands Hoale Construction series. Then I’ll take a deep breath and see what I can write to celebrate the holidays! Busy, busy. #:0)

Her bee stung lips were a delicious dark pink. They looked exquisitely soft, the bottom lip just ever so slightly fuller than the top. A speck of moist pastry sat in the soft crease at the center of that lip.
She had a tiny overbite that Brandt found infinitely charming and her heart-shaped face was flawless, with smooth skin and delicate features. A blush of soft color highlighted her creamy brown cheeks as she flushed with pleasure.
Brandt’s traitorous thoughts formed a picture of her lying beneath him, her bouncy black curls spread charmingly over the pillow as her skin flushed from his sensual attentions.
He wanted to bend down and lick that speck off her lip in the worst way. His heart rate spiked under the need. He squirmed against the counter, fearful that he would be unable to move out from behind it without embarrassing himself.
She focused her dark gaze on him and Brandt swallowed hard. He thought his jeans might cut him in half.
“Oh, my God! Brandt! This is exquisite! You have to give me your recipe.”
He shook his head and gave in to the temptation to touch her, reaching a finger toward her lip to gather up the speck of pastry. “It’s a trade secret. You’ll just have to come to me when you want some.” He pressed gently on those exquisite lips with his finger and she opened them, allowing him into velvet heat.
Her soft pink tongue swept over the pad of his finger, pulling the tidbit off and bathing it in sensual heat. Brandt groaned as she sucked the lucky digit, and he stepped around the island, reaching to wrap an arm around her tiny waist and pull her close.
She gasped as he dragged her up against the hard ridge of flesh beneath his jeans and he pulled his finger from her mouth, dipping his head toward hers.
Jillie lifted onto her toes and met him partway, her slender arms sliding around his neck to pull him close.
Brandt deepened the kiss, pulling her off her feet and holding her tight as their tongues slipped and tangled against each other.
Her small hands sifted through his hair, tickling his scalp. Brandt’s lungs filled with her sweet citrus smell, drawing her into his cells. His body swelled and hardened with need. His senses exploded.
Groaning against her lips, Brandt took a step forward and settled her butt on the countertop so he could press his aching flesh between her slim thighs.
Jillie gasped and her calves came around his hips, creating a delightful pressure in the contact points between their bodies. He slid his hands downward to encompass her firm buttocks. She dragged her mouth from his and pushed against his chest.
“No! We need to stop. This is crazy.”
