This is my first story by this author, but it won’t be my last.
Kristen and Mark Tyverson are married with 3 children. They both have successful careers and are living the American Dream. They have a happy and successful marriage and family life. They are also people of faith.
Kristen is a journalist and her job takes her all over the world. Whilst on assignment in Afghanistan, tragedy strikes and Kristen suffers a major memory loss, losing 10 years worth of her life. Her family is also suffering because she is unable to let them know she is alive. They presume she is dead and they have a memorial service for her and lay her to rest.
What follows is a beautiful love story, very well written, of how love can overcome all obstacles and barriers to ensure its survival. When the family finally gets Kristen back home, she does not remember any of them including Mark, her husband. Mark is an excellent example of living out one’s marriage vows in a real and practical way. He loves his wife very much and continues to love her through “sickness and health, for better for worse, to love and to cherish”. Mark demonstrates those fruits of the spirit that says love is “kind and patient, it bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” Love never ends and his never does!
There is a Christian theme running through the story but this does not take anything away from this story; if anything it adds to it. I loved this story! It explores the strains that life can place on a marriage when those vows get put to the test! I highly recommend this book! A 5 star read, in my personal opinion!
