Love’s Lasso is book 2 in the Graham’s Goddesses series and I must say this was an enjoyable read.
Diedra LaRue, unaware when she arrives to a town meeting, that she will lose the Gentlemen’s club she has own for a decade in a vote, must find a way to survive this devastating blow. While mulling over her options, she meets Carter Thibedeaux, a trapper that recently relocated and is currently living in a cabin on his aunt and uncle’s land. Carter is taken in by Diedra’s beauty and against his family’s disapproval, sets out to pursue Diedra and court her properly. Can both set aside Diedra’s prior occupation and the town folks’ scorn to forge a loving relationship? Readers will need to download Love’s Lasso to find out. It will not disappoint.
The storyline is engaging in that the theme centered around two people from opposite worlds meeting and forging a relationship. Diedra, being a madam, felt she was not worthy of finding true love and was determined to not let the views of the citizens deter her from earning a livelihood. She had a good heart and inner beauty that Carter immediately notices during their initial meeting. Carter’s uncle and cousin thought he should look for a more suitable wife and Diedra did not fit that profile. Carter was determined to pursue Diedra and show her she could have the “brass ring.” Diedra believes Carter can do better but her attraction and his persistence win out and she moves in with him.
These two embark on a journey that is sweet and special. Of course there are secondary characters that want to employ Diedra’s services and will stop at nothing to see her rendered them.
Good book, and would definitely recommend.
