I usually do a “What’s Happening in Romance” post this time of month, but to be perfectly honest, the real world has me in a bit (a lot) of a tiff lately. So, I’ve been doing a lot of escapist reading these last few weeks. Tis the season to be jolly damn it, and I’m gonna get my happy on.
All of that being said, I wanted to share with you my current reading list. Just in time for the big winter holiday season, several authors have released books filled with all the crackilicious, addictive romance I love.
First up is Olivia Linden’s and Leteisha Newton’s joint effort, Glitch. I love both of these authors and was super excited to hear about their Corporate Hitman series. Glitch had everything I love; hot computer hacker falls for hot computer hacker, danger, intrigue, hot sex. SOLD!
Glitch by Olivia Linden and Leteisha Newton
Liam Gallagher, AKA Glitch, is the brain behind a trio of corporate criminals. Formerly known as one of the most notorious hackers in cyberspace, he now works to keep Hawk Global Industries one step ahead of its competitors.
But there’s a catch. Being blackmailed to do what he does best isn’t how Glitch plans to spend the rest of his life, and his partners in crime feel the same way. When an old flame crosses his path unexpectedly, Glitch and company learn that betrayal is on the horizon for them. It’s time to put a plan in motion and reclaim their freedom, once and for all. Things are going to get pretty nasty along the way, even a little sexy, but it’s all in a day’s work for a Corporate Hitman.
Next up is a book that will reveal a vice of mine…I love reading holiday themed stories. I just do. There’s something about love around the holidays (Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Halloween etc.). I’m still looking for some great Thanksgiving themed romances, not to mention any romances with Jewish heroes/heroines. Recommendations are welcome! If you have a suggestion please leave the book name and author in the comments 🙂
Anyway, my current holiday themed book is Violette Dubrinsky’s, Christmas Miracle. The description of the heroine intrigued me. It reminded me of all the things I love about Olivia Pope minus all the angsty, whiny junk that works my last nerve. I just downloaded the book this afternoon, and so far am enjoying the read.
Christmas Miracle by Violette Dubrinsky
Melanie Samuels is not fond of Christmas. In fact, she’s not really fond of anything that doesn’t include making her public relations firm even better than it currently is. She’s been called many things before, “cold” being the one most frequently used. Not that she cares. As long as her business is prospering, and she’s raking in profits, Melanie is as “happy” as can be. An encounter with a new potential client begins to change that.
Sebastian Cameron Mackintosh doesn’t need a publicist. He’s a businessman, not a celebrity, though the paparazzi seem intent on ignoring that fact. Still, when the person who thinks he’s in dire need of one is his relentless little sister, he has no choice but to show up to the appointment. Expecting a short and boring meeting, Cameron is instead intrigued by the cool, stoic Melanie Samuels, owner of the MS Agency.
Within days, intrigue turns to more, and before long, Cameron is completely smitten with her. All he has to do is convince Melanie Samuels to take a chance and trust him.
With all the baggage that Melanie carries around daily, it will be a Christmas Miracle if she does…
Honorable mentions to my current list go to the following:
Redemption by Reana Malori
A Hustler’s Christmas by Kassanna
The Sweetest Taboo by Harper Miller
The covers speak for themselves. Yes, I know I shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, but it’s no secret that I happily suffer from an incurable case of “one-click syndrome”

Laurel Cremant is an opinionated author and reader of romance with a wicked sense of humor. RNIC was smart (or crazy) to bring her on as a blogger. Come back on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month to get her romance industry news…with a colorful twist.
