This story was fantastic. I love the ebb and flow and nuances of the relationship of the characters, each of them with their own drama filled backstory. I really enjoyed how the author created stories within the main story. At times you think you are reading about one thing, but later on you find out it is connected to the bigger picture.
The book opens with the murder of Agatha Lambert, the grandmother of Myra and Josh. Myra and Josh’s parents have a very strained relationship with Agatha until they are tragically killed in a car accident. Life changes significantly for Myra and Josh, especially since they are raised by their strict, rich and very snobbish grandmother.
This is where things get sticky. I loved this mystery. The story descriptions made me feel as if I was a regular in downtown New York. And at times had me thinking I was sitting in an old farmhouse with apple trees in upstate New York.
Although I loved the mystery part of the story, it was the romance that set if off for me. Let me tell you there was story, after story, after story in this book. Poor Myra has had the unfortunate luck of having a very bold stalker. In an effort to draw him out, her brother hires a very hot bodyguard to look after her. Will the body guard’s attraction to Myra prove to be disastrous as the stalker loses patience? To find out, you have to get the book.
