THIS NOVELLA WAS FIYAAAAH! Not fire but FIYAH!
This was my first time reading Ms. Ashton’s work, and I have to say I am officially a fan.
Make Me Sweat is the story of Simon Dakin aka Ian Dakota and Ever Marcille. Ever is a spy, well, she was hired to plant a listening device in Ian’s office by the man we only know as Ghost. Ghost has been blackmailing Ever into working for him and her assignment is to find out as much as she can about Simon for her boss. Little does she know, the nightclub owner she’s sent to spy on is an undercover FBI agent.
Ever has a rule of never “shitting where she eats” but she wants Simon as much as he wants her. The chemistry between these two is undeniable and from the very first-page sparks fly, and the reader is lured in by some of the hottest sex scenes I’ve ever read. Ms. Ashton’s prose makes it very easy for the reader to picture exactly what’s happening between Simon and Ever. They fall hard and fast for one another, but it’s not an over the top unbelievable insta-love. It feels right and works for the pacing of the story. There’s also the perfect amount of drama to keep the story going at a rapid pace. The secondary characters, Westin, Jayce, and Ghost keep the story flowing smoothly. I honestly would have given this story five glorious stars had it not been for the occasional typo. So in summation:
Plot = Great
Sex = FIYAH! Ms. Ashton made fisting sexy. Yes, you read that correctly, fisting. Both fisting and anal sex are present in this novella. If you’re not into that sort of thing, consider yourself warned.
Writing Style = Fabulous
Also, readers should know there is repeated usage of a derogatory slur in the novella to describe homosexuals. It’s the mindset of the character, which fits his appalling behavior.
If you’re looking for a quick, sexy, page turner, I highly recommend Make Me Sweat. You’ll be glad you indulged.
