Stormy Weather, by Marie Rochelle, is the re-release of her book Hello Keyshia Williams. This book is the first installment in the Williams Sisters series. I read the original work back in 2010 and when I began to read Stormy Weather I was shocked at how different the book was.
The basic premise of the book: Rachelle owns Luxury, a top end inn and Cash goes in to rent a room so that he can evaluate his life and career choices. They experience an instant attraction and Rachelle, a normally stoic planner, begins to act with her emotions. She unnerves her triplet sisters who only see her as the sensible one, never to act on emotion. Their instant attraction is going well until Cash opens up about his job as a tabloid reporter.
I enjoyed this book five years ago and I enjoyed this book today. Since I have read both versions of the book I will point out some differences. The relationship between Rachelle and her sisters was and still is one of my favorite parts of the book. Being the older sister to triplets was always an issue for Rachelle. Sometimes she loved it, but many times she felt it was a lot of responsibility. But as always, family is family and they look out for each other.
A major difference between the two works is that Stormy Weather does not give the background story as to how the sisters came to own Luxury. This was a part of the original book that I felt was good for setting the stage. I enjoyed that Stormy Weather gave more depth to the relationship between Cash and his brother. What I am confused about is that in this book on different occasions it is hard to tell if the girls’ parents are still living.
I have enjoyed all works by this author and even though I do not usually purchase re-releases of books I already own, I am glad I read this new version.
