Join us in welcoming Xyla Turner, author of Bombshell to the site as she answers our interview questions and introduces us to her novel.
What are your favorite types of movies to watch?
I like inspirational movies. The one where the underdog is pushed aside, much is not expected of them and they overcome the challenges and limitations that others have put on them.
What types of books are on your bookshelf at home?
On my shelf, there are an array of inspirational books, self-help books, dissertation and education books.
Which TV show(s) can you absolutely not miss every week?
Rookie Blue is the show I will not miss. It’s about young cops who are trying to navigate this new power and deal with all sorts of internal and external oppositions at the same time.
Finish this sentence: You gotta love a man who…
– who is honest, mature, settled, knows who he is, knows what he wants and goes after it.
Short answer choices: Leather or lace? Long or short hair? Fruity drink or strong liquor? Heels or flats? Jeans or skirt? Coffee or tea? Glamorous girl or girl next door? Picky eater or adventurous? Glamorous makeup or au naturale? Sexy bed-head or sophisticated coif?
Lace, long, fruity, heels, jeans, tea, girl next door, picky eater (for sure), au natural, sophisticated coif!
Do you write full-time or part-time?
I write part-time.
What is your greatest accomplishment as an author so far?
Honestly, my greatest accomplishment is actually completing six books.
What inspired you to write your latest release?
My latest release is a book that I have exclusively given to people on my mailing list, who for the most part are my readers for free. They always tag me, message me, tweet me and write reviews about the books I’ve written and I’m always overcome with joy. It’s a blessing to be able to write your thoughts, ideas and let your imagination run wild, it’s another to have people actually like it and want to talk about it. I love it and them for making that dream come true. So, I wrote my last release for them and every book in this series will be for them.
If you could trade places with a character in one of your books (male or female), who would it be and why?
Xena, because I want my own school!
What can readers expect from you next?
I have some interracial books coming out this summer, The Chase II and later in the year, readers might see me pulling out of erotica and going for straight contemporary romance. I like to test the waters.
Tired of dealing with the sexist, dominant men at her corporate job, Samantha Wilde started her own company. After hearing some life-altering news, she literally bumps into a man who knows what he wants regardless of her situation and is willing to pursue her no matter the costs.
Joshua Kelly is a successful business man. He has Samantha in his sights for not only business, but pleasure! He makes her a business proposition that she tries to refuse, then he moves in for the kill with a relationship proposal. She is almost helpless to stay away from him, because he represents the type of dominant man that she wants to avoid but his touch is addictive. Maybe this kind of dominant isn’t so bad.
