I knew going into At Her Feet it would be a wild ride, and I wasn’t disappointed. I’d previously read Book One in Ms. Weatherspoon’s FIT series, but before I continued with the other books in the series, I wanted to see how she tackled lesbian relationships, particularly one involving D/s aspects.
First, let me say to potential readers if you’re not into F/F reads or interested in a tale about what can be considered a taboo fetish, you might want to bypass this story. The subject matter will not float everyone’s boat, but I am all about the salacious reads. Bring it on!!!
At Her Feet is the story of Suzanne Kim, a biracial, digital marketing tech seeking her perfect Mommy. Remember how I said this story wouldn’t be for everyone? It dabbles into the realm of infantilism/adult babies without the diaper changing and off-putting aspects generally associated with the fetish. Suzanne is a submissive seeking a Mommy Mistress. She’s recently out of an arrangement that’s left her somewhat broken. The Domme she had previously, Laurel, never nurtured her in a way that left her feeling comforted and adored.
Suzanne is emotionally raw, but she’s looking for her missing puzzle piece. In a state that’s a combination of boredom and loneliness, Suzanne peruses a website named kinklife, seeking a long-term relationship with a new Mistress that can provide the level of comfort she never received from Laurel. She’s looking for something real that will allow her to be vulnerable, a true connection. Upon perusing the site for potential candidates, she comes across the profile for a Mami-P otherwise known as Pilar Castillo. Suzanne and Pilar exchange a few messages and agree to meet and things go off quite well between the two, but, of course, there’s always a wrench thrown into perfectly laid plans that keeps this couple from forging that bond. It wouldn’t be a great story if things went perfectly!
I absolutely loved this story. I thought the writing was strong, the fetish, although it wasn’t something I find appealing, was written in a way that was pretty damn hot. The sex scenes were steamy as heck, and I felt the emotional connection between Pilar and Suzanne. The supporting cast of characters were just as awesome as the main characters. Liam, Bizzy, and Gloria were a few of my faves. I highly recommend this story if you’re seeking a well-written, kinky romance that’s a bit out of the ordinary (in a good way).
