It’s that time again. Labor Day has come and gone, and with it so has the summer. School is officially in session in almost every school district here in the States. Yes I know that the first day of fall is September 23rd, but let’s face it, back to school days should be marked as the official end of the summer. The beaches clear up, traffic on the roads increase and pumpkin everything goes up on every menu in the land. The pumpkin factor is really the only thing that keeps me from curling up into a ball of depression at this point. Well, pumpkins and the knowledge that it’s recommendation time! YUP!

Some Laurel Summer Reads
A Love Frozen In Time…
Reese Johnson yearns for a life other than the world of drudgery she’s settled for as the manager of a comic book store. What’s that they say? Be careful what you wish for? Well that’s a motto Reese should have tattooed across her forehead. Because Loki, the Norse god of mischief, has just the remedy for the boring life of this woman who denounces his existence.
His recipe for disaster?
Take a 30 year-old woman and send her back in time as a pawn for revenge. Couple her with Eirik Sigurdsson, a Viking Warlord, too arrogant and baggage-laden to be of any use for anything, but battle and bed. Mix thoroughly, folding in a heavy dose of pride, a tyrannical king, and a sympathetic goddess. Bake at high until a white-hot love is unleashed and then forever frozen in time.
Aspiring teacher, Cera Winslow, is three days away from being out on the streets when a cashier’s check arrives, bearing one word in the memo line: JUNE
Just when she’s at her most desperate, a mysterious benefactor shows up, offering her more money than she could ever earn on her own as a teacher in exchange for three things: JUNE, JULY, and AUGUST.
He wants her. In his bed. For the entire summer.
The only thing is, Cera has no idea who he is…
Or why he’s doing this…
Or what he wants with an inexperienced, super curvy grad student like her…
She takes the deal anyway. Determined not only to survive, but also to provide for her autistic sister.
In her mind, she knows she’s doing what she has to in order to get by. But when an unexpected passion explode, Cera’s no longer sure her heart will survive becoming His for the Summer. Especially when she finds out the very dark answers to all of her questions.
For Ariadne Morris, it was enough that her boyfriend dumped her for her cousin, but then she finds out that they plan to announce their engagement at the annual family reunion. Spending time at the beach with friends seems like the perfect getaway. Unfortunately, Asher Hollister, her high school nemesis, shows up.
