Saving Me, by Bella Juarez is the third installment in the Knights of Red Horse trilogy. It is also a 1Night Stand story. When I agreed to read this story I had not read the first parts of the trilogy. Enjoying this story as much as I did, I went back and read Hanging by a Moment and Beautiful Nightmare. It is not necessary to read parts one and two to enjoy this novella, though.
Mike Brannan works for Aaron and Tom, the main characters from books one and two, and they give Mike a gift certificate to use the services of Madame Eve. Angel Rivas is a famous plus size model that is venturing into producing a line of clothes. She has such a busy life that she hasn’t had any time for a real romance.
As the story progresses we discover that Angel and Mike have a history that goes back to high school. This past is something they will both need to overcome if they are to move forward. This story also includes Angel’s brother Marc, a gay police officer that is doing all he can to protect his sister from a stalker. I hope there is a complete story for Marc down the line.
The most interesting part of this story is the form of BDSM they engage in, Breath Play. In all the stories I have read in this genre, this is the first time reading about this particular form. While it is not my cup of tea, I was intrigued by the dynamics of how it worked, according to the explanation of the author.
Ms. Juarez, best known for her Black Ops Series, outdid herself with this trilogy.
