Sometimes the weekend is all about staying in. Whether you plan on “snuggling” up to watch a good movie, or veg on the couch or bed with a good marathon binge on episodes from your new favorite show, some weekends just call for Netflix.

Reserved Lauren (Lauren Anne Miller) and bubbly Katie (Ari Graynor) are polar opposites and past enemies. However, when both gals find they lack sufficient funds to rent their dream apartment in New York City, they become reluctant roommates. Lauren and Katie have nothing in common — until Lauren realizes that Katie’s work as a phone-sex operator could become a great business opportunity. But, as the women’s business partnership takes off, unexpected challenges threaten their new friendship.
If you are looking for something light, funny and showcases the romance of friendship, this is the perfect movie to watch. The movie has some hilarious moments…because phone sex, but it also has some great poignant moments, that make you want to call up your own best friend and hang out for hours.
Netflix & Binge
Starring: Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Hensen…
Length: 2 Seasons
The first in a planned series of shows detailing the Marvel universe, “Daredevil” follows Matt Murdock, attorney by day and vigilante by night. Blinded in an accident as a child, Murdock uses his heightened senses as Daredevil, fighting crime on the streets of New York after the sun goes down. His efforts are not welcomed by powerful businessman Wilson Fisk — aka Kingpin — and others whose interests collide with those of Daredevil. Though Murdock’s day job portrays a man who believes in the criminal justice system, his alter ego suggests otherwise, as he takes the law into his own hands to protect his Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood and the surrounding communities
Season two focuses on The Punisher character.
If you haven’t watched this show yet, you have been missing out on one of the grittiest shows available. The show grapples with the issues of right, wrong and grey area so well. It is dark, it is human, it is fantastic. The writers do an amazing job at making villians human in this series, and an even better job at making even the extraordinary heroes remarkably human and flawed. The action scenes are intense, bloody and no holds barred. LOVE THIS SERIES.
Laurel Cremant is an opinionated author and reader of romance with a wicked sense of humor. RNIC was smart (or crazy) to bring her on as a blogger. In 2016 she took over the management of this site and relishes her new title of “Overlord of Awesome”
