Maya and Roman are back again in Be With Me. This is a continuation from The Unexpected series. Things seem to be going really well for the couple. Their personal and professional lives are on track, but then old insecurities start to creep back into Maya’s head and she allows outside influences to take over.
I really enjoyed this book with Aja and Roy Glenn. These two authors have really great chemistry when creating their characters. They each bring something special to the book. The dialogue between the characters makes you feel like you are witnessing a first hand encounter with friends. Dealing with the pressures and expectations of relationships can be tough. Aja and Roy bring relate-able topics about relationships and life situations to light. You fall in love with the characters and fight for them with each page you read.
There are times when I wanted to literally jump through the pages and scream at Maya. She just wasn’t understanding how great of guy Roman really is. At times she wasn’t sure of herself and her relationship with him, but doesn’t this happen to all of us?
The camaraderie between Roy and Aja’s characters is outstanding. At some points in the book I was trying to figure out who wrote which scene because everything just went together, it’s hard to tell that two different people wrote this book. It’s almost they the authors are inside of each others heads.Make sure you have some ice water near by while reading.
I’m really curious as to what these two have coming out next. Aja and Roy Glenn both write with so much passion in their own separate projects that you know a combined effort between the two will be off the charts. I am definitely ready to see more from these great authors.
