Ten years ago, rebellious corporate heir Alexander Diallo was living in Jamaica, a world away from his moneyed roots. But his youthful indiscretions have followed the successful computer engineer back to Miami. Now he's being emotionally blackmailed into romancing a perfect stranger. The seduction becomes all too real when Lex starts falling for Noelle Palmer…and longs to turn the pleasure-driven charade into a more permanent union.
Being abandoned at the altar left emotional scars, and Noelle isn't ready to trust again—even if Lex is everything she ever dreamed of in a lover. His sensuality and magnetic charm tempt her to let down her guard and open her heart. Until she discovers that they didn't meet by chance. Can Lex convince her that what began as a deception has deepened into a love that can erase all the mistakes of the past?
In Bare Pleasures Lindsay Evans brings you heat, sensuality and compassion. Alexander “Lex” Diallo is a workaholic who is back in Miami living life under the radar. He meets Noelle Palmer and something inside of him opens up. Noelle has no interest in meeting a new guy she just wants to get over her heartache of a failed relationship. But what do you do when your own sister feels that you need to jump into the dating pool again?
Lex is dealing with being emotionally blackmailed by Noelle’s sister Margot, whom he knows from living in Jamaica. But what Margot doesn’t know is he didn’t have to be blackmailed into being with Noelle. She’s the woman he’s been waiting for all these years.
While reading the description of Noelle I thought she was going to be extremely depressed and a home body. But that’s not the case, she has her outlets and things that she does to help her cope with life. Lindsay Evans sucks you into the story line and makes you want to become a therapist so you can help Noelle and even Lex deal with his own issues. The story allows you to take a look at mental health awareness, self-care and how much we value what our families think of us as a person. No this is not a self-help book, it is a romance novel, but it’s a romance novel that will provide you with real-life issues.
Bare Pleasures makes you want to bare your soul out to the one person that you connect with. That person that you can be vulnerable and open with. You know the person that won’t judge your mistakes or mishaps in life. Evans introduces you some characters throughout the book that you get to enjoy. I hope we get to meet some of the them in future books.
