Title: Piece of My Love
Author: Te Russ
Noah Watson has been burned one too many times. The idea of falling in love is inconceivable. The Phoenix Aldridge walks into his fire station. Phoenix has always gone after what she wants, and from the moment she meets Noah, she knows he’ll be hers. Can she tear down the walls he’s built up and show him what real love can feel like?
I got a sneak peek of Noah and Phoenix from Te Russ’ Facebook group. Periodically she would post an excerpt to get us ready for this book. I wasn’t ready.
Noah is the fireman we all want to meet in person. Not only is he gorgeous but he is also compassionate, considerate of your time, and he will be your protector. Phoenix is living her life, working her juice bar, The Main Squeeze, helping out her parents and enjoying her friends. Neither of them realized that first impressions leave lasting affects.
The chemistry between Noah and Phoenix is there right away. I seriously thought she was going to drop those groceries when she first walked into the firehouse. These two aren’t looking for the next hookup, they were both in their own lanes….at first. Life has a way of making sure that you pay attention to what it’s trying to tell you.
Russ writes a story about two individuals who have gone through some tough times. Their pasts have shaped who they are now. There were a few times while reading that I wanted to send Te a message and ask her “Can these character’s catch a break?” As I continued to read the story I understood why they had to go through those hard times. This book has the right amount of romance and sex to it, there’s a balance there that leads you to wonder how things will turn out.
There are a few secondary characters that I feel should have their own story so hopefully Te Russ is working on something for us. Maybe we can get a Max and Sloane story next.
