Trying to put past hurts behind you is hard when your ex is a fool, but buoyed by child support and alimony, Jo Walker is moving forward with her life, pursuing a career, raising her little girl, and trying to live in peace. She believes she has all the bases covered in her world. But what about her heart?
Rap legend Everett “Big South” McClain is divorced, too, knows all about failed relationships, and has relegated his love life to casual connections rather than pursuing something real. That is, until he lays eyes on Jo.
She’s exactly what he never knew he needed.
He’s what’s been missing from her world.
Will she accept what he has to offer and let him love her?
***This novel contains profanity and sexual content. If you do not like those elements in your romantic reads, this is not the book for you***

This is not your typical fall in love with a rapper story. This book is a page turner but it will also have you ready to throw sharp objects at some of the characters. Jo has had a rough life but she’s pushing through it and making the best of her situation while raising her little girl. She just wants to live her life in her bubble. Well life doesn’t work that way. Enter Everett “Big South” McClain, who knew that one encounter would change their lives forever.
Big South is the rapper that the everyone knows but Everett is the sweet gentleman that wants to take care of the people that he loves. Jo knows that Big South is sexy but she’s not about to get herself caught up. If anyone can get to Jo it will have to be Everett.
These two go through so many obstacles that there are times in the book that you want to ask the author if they will ever get a break. Can Everett and Jo get a happy moment without someone or some thing ruining it? These two fight hard for their relationship and you can’t help but cheer them on.
I won’t give any spoilers but there are a few characters that I really wanted to dropkick while reading this book. This is going to be a great series. I can’t wait to see what happens with the other McClain brothers. I feel like Ella and Aunt Ever may each need their own book in the future too.
